Need htaccess hack to make BBpress search function for WordPress to work

I have some issues with BBpress for Wordpress and my theme Enfold. I have been in contact with BBpress support and tried the Wordpress support as well, but unfortunately we cannot seem to make it work. I do know what solution could make it work - i just don't know how to create the solution, which is a htaccess hack or whatever you want to call it :)

Let me illustrate the issue:

If you search on the forum from my website (http://antonhoelstad.dk/faq/), and search for let's say "AdWords". Then you'll end up at this URL: "/soeg/?action=bbp-search-request&bbp_search=AdWords". It has no content at all.

If you change the URL to /soeg/AdWords/ instead, you get the correct landing page.

What I need now, is a htaccess rewrite that removes the part of the URL string with "?action=bbp-search-request&bbp_search=", and puts a "/" at the end.

I've tried on my own, without luck with this:

# BEGIN bbpress search hack
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^action=(.*)&bbp_search=(.*)$
    RewriteRule ^/soeg/(.*)$ http://antonhoelstad.dk/soeg/%2/? [L]
</IfModule>
# END bbpress search hack

It doesn't work unfortunately.

Can anyone help me with a htaccess thing that works to fix this issue?

Any help will be highly appreciated!

WordPress MU / Buddy Press – reverse proxy – too many redirects

Here's my setup: - I have a Wordpress Multisite install running at wp.mywebsite.com/blog (LAMP stack) - I have my main site running on an IIS server using reverse proxy to rewrite this WP install to www.mywebsite.com/blog

I've managed to make this work as expected - now here's where I get stuck.

I'm trying to setup BuddyPress/BBPress - this causes me issues. Certain pages ie/ /blog/members/{member-slug} give me redirect loop errors.

If I change the setup in /wp-admin/options-general.php - pointing the Site Address (URL) back to wp.mywebsite.com/ everything works ok.

  • This however isn't desirable as all my links on the frontend now use wp. not www.(

Any ideas?
