Using Apache Licensed library in Android [on hold]

I'm a little bit confused about what Apache License 2.0 does. I'm writing an app and I'm using an open source library to do some stuffs. As it had some bugs, I modified some code in order to fix them.

If I want to publish my app on Google Play. What do I have to do now?

1) I should keep the following part right?

/*
 * ++++ library
 * Version 0.2 beta
 *
 * Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License");
 * you may not use this file except in compliance with the License.
 * You may obtain a copy of the License at
 *
 *    http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0
 *
 * Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, software
 * distributed under the License is distributed on an "AS IS" BASIS,
 * WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied.
 * See the License for the specific language governing permissions and
 * limitations under the License.
*/

2) Should I ask the author for some authorization or something like this?

3) Should I put something else in my code in order to use the library in a correct legal way?

Thanks in advance

Can I use XAMPP for a commercial product? [on hold]

A dentist has contracted me to create a database system that he wants to be able to generate reports and maintaining accounting system.
He wants it to work Windows platforms. I would be using Apache, php and MySQL to create the database system.
My question is since he maintaining accounting datas, will this action violate the license agreement for using XAMPP and its contained components?
If so, is there a commercial license available to use this product with its contained components in a commercial environment and how much is the license?

Using apache license 2.0 fonts in commercial software (Mobile Game)

Good evening. After searching for an hour without any luck I'm really wondering why there is no more information about what we exactly have to do to be allowed to make us of components such as fonts (that are licensed under the apache license v2) in commercial software (Mobile Game). The Apache License v2 definitions and descriptions are not really helpful if you're not a lawyer.

Did I understand correctly that:

  • I have to attribute the used components (that are licensed under Apache License v2) somewhere (probably in the about dialog)? But how does this attribution has to look like!?
  • Include the Apache License v2 in the software? But where if the distributed application is a single compiled file?
  • My software doesn't have to be licensed under Apache License v2, right?

Thank you very much for clarification!
